For this project I wanted to explore 1950s womenswear along with surface embellishment. Creating this illusion dress allowed me to explore period techniques, as well as skills that could be transferred into bridal wear and lingerie, which are areas I am interested in.

​

As well as creating the silk organza dress I also created the petticoat which was worn underneath.
